Kälteschutz im Mehringhof

The "Cold Shelter for Homeless People" in the Mehringhof was founded in 1996 by activists from the Mikrozensus working group and Stattbuch Verlag as an independent and democratically managed night café. There are currently almost 40 volunteers working in our project who want to help people without permanent accommodation in Berlin to get through the winter. In addition to sheltered overnight accommodation, we offer a weekly dinner and breakfast for our guests during the cold weather season (end of October - beginning of April). We also offer the opportunity to wash and receive new clothes and toiletries. We endeavour to create a pleasant atmosphere in which individual conversations are also possible. We want our guests to feel at home.

Always check the organisation's website for possible updates before you visit a service.
